NEXZ is set to take the stage at Brazil’s massive ‘Rock in Rio’ festival, opening the show in Rio de Janeiro on September 11—just before senior labelmates Stray Kids make history as the festival’s first-ever K-pop headliners.
According to JYP Entertainment on the 13th, NEXZ will perform the opening stage for ‘Rock in Rio’ on September 11 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This marks the rookie group’s first appearance on the lineup of a major global music festival since debut. They will kick off the festivities ahead of Stray Kids, who are slated to headline as the first K-pop act ever to do so at the event.
Counted among the world’s biggest music festivals, ‘Rock in Rio’ began in Rio de Janeiro in 1985 and has since expanded to Lisbon, Madrid, and Las Vegas. The stage is legendary, having hosted era-defining artists including Queen, Guns N' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and MUSE.
Meanwhile, NEXZ debuted in May 2024 with their first single ‘Ride the Vibe’. Since then, they have been gaining traction through music, performance, and a wide range of content appearances, quickly emerging as rising global prospects.
