Actor Joo Ji-hoon is reportedly joining a hard-hitting drama about the brutal succession wars inside Korea's chaebol families.
According to MyDaily on the 16th, Joo Ji-hoon will star in the drama Vikings.
Previously, Joo Ji-hoon had been set to appear in a remake of the film Inside Men, but he ultimately decided not to join. While stars like Song Kang-ho and Koo Kyo-hwan were reportedly in talks, the project went through script revisions and retooling—only to hit another unexpected snag.
Vikings spotlights the secret family war within a Korean conglomerate, diving into the tangled relationships of the nation's richest elites and their ruthless succession battles. The story follows family members fighting tooth and nail for the throne of a family empire worth hundreds of billions of won. Joo Ji-hoon is said to play Han Tae-jun, a man who will stop at nothing for success and power.
Meanwhile, Joo Ji-hoon returns to the small screen with ENA's Monday–Tuesday drama Climax, premiering tonight at 10 p.m.
