Shocking box office shake-up: The film The King's Warden has dethroned Frozen II to seize No. 6 on Korea's all-time box office chart — and it's now threatening Avengers: Endgame at No. 5.

According to the Korean Film Council's KOBIS database on the 19th, The King's Warden drew 124,110 viewers across 1,533 screens nationwide the previous day, holding the No. 1 spot at the box office. Its cumulative admissions have reached 13,846,269, surpassing Frozen II (13,740,000).

The gap with Avengers: Endgame, currently at No. 5 with 13,930,000 viewers, is now roughly 90,000 — making the race even more compelling.

At this pace — pulling in over 100,000 moviegoers even on weekdays — industry watchers say it's only a matter of time before The King's Warden rewrites the rankings.

The film stars Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, and Jeon Mi-do. Set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, it tells the story of the deposed young former king Danjong in exile and the villagers of Gwangcheongol.
