The film The King's Warden has smashed past 15 million admissions.

On the 25th, according to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system, The King's Warden surpassed a cumulative 15 million moviegoers. The milestone, reached 50 days after release, cements it as this year's biggest hit and puts it on pace to challenge all-time records.

Released on February 4, The King's Warden is set in the Joseon era and follows village head Heung-do Eom (Hae-jin Yoo), who chooses exile at Cheongnyeongpo for the future of his town, and the deposed young king, Danjong Lee Hongwi (Ji-hoon Park). Ji-tae Yoo, Mi-do Jeon, and Min Kim also star, delivering a tightly knit ensemble performance.

In particular, The King's Warden topped 10 million admissions just 31 days after release, joining the elite "ten-million movie" club. It has also notched the No. 1 spot in cumulative revenue to date, capturing both buzz and profit.

Its box office rise is just as striking. The King's Warden currently ranks third in South Korea's all-time admissions, behind The Admiral: Roaring Currents (17.61 million) and Extreme Job (16.26 million), and is rapidly closing the gap with No. 2—fueling speculation of a rankings shake-up.

If its momentum continues, expectations are growing that it could even set a new record by overtaking The Admiral: Roaring Currents.
