BTS has conquered the Billboard 200 yet again with their fifth full-length album ‘ARIRANG’.
According to a chart preview published by U.S. music outlet Billboard on the 29th (local time), BTS’s new release ‘ARIRANG’ landed at No. 1 on the main albums chart, the Billboard 200 (dated April 4).
This marks BTS’s seventh No. 1 on the Billboard 200. ‘ARIRANG’ entered the chart with 641,000 equivalent album units in its first week. Notably, pure album sales accounted for 532,000 of that total — the highest single-week tally for a group album since the units metric was introduced.
On March 28, ‘ARIRANG’ also topped the UK’s Official Albums Chart Top 100, scoring simultaneous No. 1s in both the U.S. and the UK and once again proving BTS’s global dominance.
Riding the momentum, BTS is set to roll out their in-house content ‘Run BTS! 2.0’. On the 29th, the group’s official Instagram announced that a teaser for ‘Run BTS! 2.0’ will drop. The teaser is scheduled to be released at 9 p.m. on the 30th.
Upon hearing the news, ARMY (the official fandom) reacted with excitement: “This is exactly what we needed,” “BTS’s true identity is finally coming,” and “Now it finally feels like a real comeback.”
