Sik-K is once again at the center of legal proceedings as his appeal trial continues.

At the first appellate hearing held on April 2 at the Seoul Western District Court, prosecutors argued that the original sentence was too lenient and requested a prison term of three years and six months—the same sentence they had sought during the initial trial.

Previously, the court handed down a sentence of 10 months in prison, suspended for two years, along with probation and mandatory drug treatment education. The prosecution is now pushing for a stricter penalty.

In response, Sik-K’s legal team emphasized his cooperation throughout the investigation and trial, describing him as a user with no involvement in distribution. They also pointed to his efforts over the past two years to maintain sobriety through counseling and treatment programs.

The defense further argued that, as a public figure, he faces heightened scrutiny, which could reduce the likelihood of reoffending.

Sik-K first gained recognition through Show Me the Money 4 before establishing his own label and building a presence in the hip-hop scene. In January last year, he voluntarily approached a police officer and admitted to drug use, initiating the investigation.

The court is expected to deliver its ruling on April 30.
