Actress Go Youn-jung is going viral after opening up about her on-screen chemistry with Koo Kyo-hwan and sharing heartfelt thoughts on her new project.

On the 3rd, the team behind JTBC’s new Sat–Sun drama Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness (hereafter ‘Mojamussa’) dropped fresh stills of Go as Byun Eun-a alongside a candid interview.

“Because it’s a story set in the industry I’m a part of, it felt natural to me, and there was so much I could deeply relate to,” Go explained about why she signed on. She added, “It leans into comedy, but the humor isn’t shallow. It carries the vibe of a black sitcom, which really impressed me.”

Go’s character, Byun Eun-a, is nicknamed the “Axe PD” for her razor-sharp script reviews, yet she quietly wrestles with existential anxiety. Interpreting the role, Go said, “She holds herself to harsher standards than anyone and keeps asking, ‘Am I truly a person of value?’” She noted that she focused on fine details like eye lines, pacing in her speech, and tone.

Speaking about her chemistry with Koo Kyo-hwan, who plays Hwang Dong-man, she shared, “I often felt like I was watching the real Hwang Dong-man.” She continued, “Even within the freedom of his acting, there’s a clear sense of order. I learned a lot and felt truly inspired.” Their dynamic is shaping up to be one of the drama’s biggest talking points.

Go closed by saying, “Through Byun Eun-a’s journey, I hope viewers gain a new perspective that helps them understand and accept their own sense of worthlessness. I want them to feel a small sense of liberation in recognizing and embracing themselves.”

After the interview dropped, fans reacted with comments like “She’s so well-spoken” and “Reading this makes me even more excited,” fueling even more buzz.

Meanwhile, ‘Mojamussa’—which follows a character consumed by envy and jealousy after feeling left behind among overachieving friends—premieres on the 18th at 10:40 p.m. on JTBC.
