Horror film Salmokji has seized the No.1 spot in advance ticket sales, igniting buzz across the internet. Riding the box office momentum of The King's Warden, Project Hail Mary, the film is already drawing explosive attention.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network on the 7th, Salmokji posted a 25.6% share in the latest advance bookings, ranking first overall. This surpasses the pre-sale rates of Project Hail Mary and The King's Warden, which currently dominate theaters, positioning it as the spring box office's new dark horse.
Salmokji follows a film crew who head to a reservoir to re-shoot a bizarre figure captured on a road-view image, only to encounter an unknown presence lurking in the pitch-black depths. Early screenings have already drawn raves like "The immersion was so intense I lost track of time" and "The tension from the acting, sound design, and directing is unmatched."
Directed by Lee Sang-min and powered by standout performances from Kim Hye-yoon and Lee Jong-won, Salmokji opens nationwide on the 8th.
