A mysterious teaser that hid the lead’s face behind shots of piano-playing and conducting hands had fans guessing nonstop — and now the musical has finally ripped off the veil with a flashy, star-packed cast reveal.

On the 8th, production company EMK Musical Company officially kicked things off by unveiling the stacked cast for the musical Ludwig van Beethoven.

The biggest headline: Park Hyo-shin and Hong Kwang-ho will share the title role of Ludwig van Beethoven. With their powerhouse vocals and razor-sharp acting, the pairing of these two titans is already sending musical fans into a frenzy.

Antonie Brentano, Beethoven’s fabled “Immortal Beloved,” will be played by the rock-solid trio of Yoon Gong-ju, Kim Ji-hyun, and Kim Ji-woo, each bringing a distinct charm. Kaspar van Beethoven, the composer’s brother, goes to Shin Sung-min and Kim Do-hyun, promising a gripping mix of sibling conflict and devotion. Bettina Brentano will be portrayed by Sung Min-jae and WJSN’s Yoo Yeon-jung, injecting fresh energy into the stage.

As the jaw-dropping lineup dropped, netizens exploded with reactions like “EMK is going all out,” “This casting already has me stressed about ticketing,” and “The boss is finally back.”

Hype is sky-high, especially with Hong Kwang-ho fresh off a successful run in the musical Moulin Rouge! in February and Park Hyo-shin actively engaging fans through his recent solo concert.

Promising a deeper narrative and grander score to capture the life and love of the immortal composer, Ludwig van Beethoven will run from June 9 to August 11. With Korea’s top-tier musical stars assembling, it’s poised to become this summer’s hottest ticket.
