Singer-actor IU and actor Byeon Woo-seok amped up anticipation by sharing vivid behind-the-scenes stories from the set of the upcoming MBC drama 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife.
In the teaser for the web variety show Salon Drip released on the 7th, IU, Byeon Woo-seok, Noh Sang-hyun, and Gong Seung-yeon — the main cast of 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife — appeared and dished on what happened behind the scenes.
When Jang Do-yeon asked about the much-talked-about "wall kiss" scene in the show, Byeon Woo-seok recalled, "When you shoot a kiss scene, your noses touch. It was hot, so everything was a bit dewy." IU added with a laugh, "It left a nose mark on my cheek."
When Noh Sang-hyun followed up with, "How many times did you shoot the kiss scene?", IU admitted, "So many I lost count." Byeon Woo-seok chimed in, "We really repeated it over and over," drawing attention — a hint at how many takes the pair went through to perfect the moment.
They also shared episodes that captured the on-set vibe. IU teased, "As we get into the latter half, Noh Sang-hyun comes off incredibly sexy," to which Byeon Woo-seok said, "It was so intense I even forgot my lines," cracking everyone up.
Starring IU, Byeon Woo-seok, Noh Sang-hyun, and Gong Seung-yeon, 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife is a romance set against a constitutional monarchy, telling a love story that transcends class lines. Earlier, IU and Byeon Woo-seok drew buzz on the web program Just an Excuse when they shared that they had worked together before on a past drama and a music video teaser.
The full Salon Drip episode featuring the four will be released on the 14th, while 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife premieres at 9:40 p.m. on the 10th.
