Actor-singer Park Ji-hoon, fresh off claiming the coveted “ten-million actor” title, is now set to take over the small screen.

On the 9th, TVING dropped the first teaser for its original series The Legend of Kitchen Soldier (hereafter 'Kitchen Soldier').

'Kitchen Soldier' is a military 'cookbang' (cooking-broadcast) fantasy K-drama that follows Private Kang Seong-jae (played by Park Ji-hoon), who swaps a rifle for a chef’s knife and a bullet belt for an apron to become a legendary mess-hall chef.

The newly released “transfer report” teaser shows Kang Seong-jae arriving at his new unit right after completing recruit training—still clumsy and out of his depth. In a hilarious twist, he blurts out that he “can cook instant ramen,” and suddenly he’s assigned to the kitchen squad on the spot. Before he even settles in, this chaotic start sets the stage for Kang to wow his fellow soldiers with mouthwatering dishes and begin his journey to ‘legend’ status.

As Kang Seong-jae says, “Delicious food made with sincerity has the power to move people’s hearts.” True to that line, 'Kitchen Soldier' aims to be more than a simple cooking drama—it promises a warm, healing story that comforts and captivates service members.

After the teaser dropped, fans flooded social media with reactions like “His eye acting dominates even in a drama,” “Visuals so good they’re filling me up,” and “I’ll be counting the days until May.”

Based on the hit Naver webtoon of the same name, 'Kitchen Soldier' premieres on May 11 at 8:50 p.m. KST on TVING and tvN.
