Some stories are shocking for what happened. Others, for how long they went unnoticed.

SBS’s Unanswered Questions is set to examine a case that remained hidden in plain sight for over three years—centering on a mummified body discovered inside a studio apartment in Incheon.

The case came to light in July 2024, when a building manager entered the unit after the tenant had stopped paying rent and could no longer be reached. Inside, everyday signs of life remained—appliances still running, belongings left untouched—until the discovery revealed something far more disturbing.

Investigations later suggested the victim had died years earlier, with the cause linked to neck compression. The tenant, identified as a man surnamed Kim, was already in custody on unrelated charges when the case resurfaced.

According to his statements, the incident stemmed from a claimed suicide pact with his former partner. However, the prolonged concealment of the body—spanning 1,277 days—has drawn deeper scrutiny, raising questions about both the crime and the time that followed.

Beyond the details of the case itself, the broadcast is expected to explore how such a situation could remain undiscovered for so long, and what it reveals about isolation, systems, and oversight.

The episode will air on March 28 at 11:10 p.m.
