Before it even airs, the time‑slip romance drama starring Im Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun is earning raves from netizens as “gam-da-sal,” slang for “they totally nailed the vibe.”
On the 29th, SBS’s new Friday–Saturday drama Brave New World unveiled its main poster, offering a glimpse of the show’s uniquely moody atmosphere.
The poster frames Im Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun standing side by side against a traditional hwajeopdo backdrop—peonies and butterflies in full bloom. The stark contrast in their outfits, hinting at different eras, immediately grabs attention: Im Ji-yeon in Joseon-era court attire and Heo Nam-jun in a sharp modern suit create a striking visual synergy.
As soon as the poster dropped, netizens reacted with heat, saying, “I’m hyped just from the poster,” and “This is insanely well done.”
Brave New World follows the war‑like romance between Shin Seori (played by Im Ji-yeon), a nameless actress who turns into a full‑on “villainess” after being possessed by the soul of Joseon’s notorious femme fatale Kang Dan-sim, and chaebol heir Cha Segye (Heo Nam-jun), dubbed “a monster born of capitalism.”
Set for 14 episodes, Brave New World premieres Friday, May 8 at 9:50 p.m. on SBS.
