Park Bo-young’s first-ever crime thriller is finally here — and it’s already causing a stir.

Ahead of its April 29 premiere, Disney+ original series Gold Land dropped jaw-dropping stills of Park Bo-young setting a blaze, instantly igniting buzz.

Gold Land is a high-tension thriller about Hee-joo (played by Park Bo-young), who gets her hands on a smuggling ring’s gold bars worth around 150 billion won (~$110 million) and fights tooth and nail to keep the stash for herself.

The newly released stills capture a split-second, life-or-death moment: once an ordinary customs officer, Hee-joo ends up on the run after secretly diverting a coffin used by the smuggling ring at the request of her boyfriend, Do-kyung (Lee Hyun-wook), an airline first officer.

Park Bo-young previously revealed at the press conference, “It was so scary it even showed up in my dreams,” teasing the intensity of Hee-joo’s car chase with Director Park (Lee Kwang-soo). As Hee-joo speeds off in a hearse carrying the coffin, Director Park obsessively gives chase — eventually hurling himself onto the moving vehicle and clinging on for a heart-stopping, all-out pursuit. The production team added, “Immersed in the role, Lee Kwang-soo actually struck the car’s glass with his fist and forehead hard enough to crack it,” raising expectations for the terrifying presence of his unhinged character.

Gold Land promises a striking transformation for the always-reliable Park Bo-young, while Lee Kwang-soo’s deranged action alone is set to leave a lasting impression. Kim Sung-cheol, playing Woo-gi, also hints at another breakout performance with his rough-edged, razor-sharp charm. With this powerhouse cast and airtight character play, the series is poised to deliver next-level immersion.

Meanwhile, Gold Land premieres with Episodes 1 and 2 on the 29th, then continues with two episodes weekly for a total of 10.
