New KBS 2TV weekend thriller 'The Husband' just dropped its full trailer — and it’s already sparking a fierce split online as Namgoong Min, recently dubbed a real-life "wife guy" for his sweet affection toward Jin Areum, headlines a shocking marital mystery.
On the 23rd, the production of the new KBS 2TV Sat–Sun miniseries The Husband unveiled a comprehensive teaser.
The trailer opens with neurosurgeon Kang Tae-joo (played by Namgoong Min) telling his wife Go Se-yoon (Lee Seol), "Let’s get a divorce. You and me." Then the line "The moment I hated her most, my wife disappeared" flashes on screen, as scenes pile on to amplify the mystery. In a twist, while Tae-joo clashes with Noh Man-hee (Kim Dae-myung) to find the kidnapped Se-yoon, he himself becomes the prime suspect.
Driven into sheer terror, Se-yoon screams, "Why are you really doing this to me?" A chilling voice adds, "You know your husband doesn’t love you," deepening the questions surrounding the case. As the psychological tension peaks, Tae-joo launches a desperate search, kicking off a nerve-racking chase.
The main poster symbolically captures a dangerously fractured marriage: Tae-joo grips Se-yoon by the neck, radiating menace and fueling curiosity about the truth behind their relationship, while Se-yoon’s frozen fear underscores the gravity of what’s happened.
Producers teased, "The Husband dives deep into marital conflict and inner turmoil through a kidnapping case," adding, "Namgoong Min and Lee Seol’s raw emotions and the unpredictable plot will dominate living rooms this summer."
Viewers are already divided: "KBS Daesang is Namgoong Min’s," "He’s always a safe bet," "Same tone and expressions — getting old," and "Is Lee Seol being pushed because she’s in the same agency as Namgoong Min?"
Meanwhile, The Husband — about a man who fights to the extreme against a monstrous criminal to save his wife kidnapped right before their divorce — premieres July 4 at 9:20 p.m. KST, and will be available for replay on Wavve and Disney+.
