Shocking update: the Netflix original series The Trauma Code: Heroes on call, which sparked a global craze, is reportedly moving forward with simultaneous production for Seasons 2 and 3.
According to MyDaily on the 22nd, the production team behind Netflix's The Trauma Code: Heroes on call will kick off full-scale work on Seasons 2 and 3, aiming to start filming in October. Reports say the two seasons will be shot back-to-back, and Season 2—planned for eight episodes—already has scripts completed through episode 4.
The Trauma Code: Heroes on call is a punchy medical action drama about genius surgeon Baek Kang-hyeok (played by Ju Ji-hoon), who arrives to bring a near-defunct trauma team back to life.
In the new season, Baek Kang-hyeok will personally visit trauma centers across regional areas, delivering high-stakes, spectacle-filled episodes. Notably, Season 1 stars including Ju Ji-hoon, Choo Young-woo, Ha Young, and Yoon Kyung-ho are all set to return, with fresh characters joining each episode to supercharge the story.
Premiering in January 2025, The Trauma Code: Heroes on call shot straight to No. 1 on 'Today's Top 10 Series in Korea' and held the top spot for an incredible 22 consecutive days. It also ranked No. 1 globally in the Non-English TV category on Netflix's official weekly chart for the 5th week of January, and within three weeks of release, it surged to No. 7 on the all-time hit score list for Netflix Korea original dramas.
Netizens reacted, saying, "I'm grateful even for just Season 2, but they're giving us Season 3 too," "Having the original members back is the real deal," and "I can't wait to watch it."
