Actress Go Ah-sung just dropped a viral behind-the-scenes bomb about the label calling her the "No. 1 smoking actor" online.
On the 21st, the segment 'Urban Women Shelter' on the YouTube channel Yeouido Bedtime Club featured Go Ah-sung, Um Ji-yoon, Charles Enter, and Kim Min-kyung.
Addressing how the internet often hails her as Korea’s top "smoking-acting" star, Go admitted, "Honestly, it wasn’t cool at all," making everyone laugh.
The scene in question was her smoking scene in Hong Sang-soo’s film Right Now, Wrong Then. Recalling the shoot, Go said, "It was so tough. Director Hong Sang-soo likes to do many takes, and we shot that scene about 40 times," shocking the room. She added, "Which means I lit the cigarette 40 times. It was never meant to look tasty or cool — I was just trying to make it look that way." Hearing this, Um Ji-yoon reacted, "If it was 40 times, my head would’ve been spinning."
Go also remembered the exact moment she earned the now-viral title. "One day I was online and saw a post titled 'Korea’s No. 1 smoking acting.' I clicked it, and I was No. 1 — with Ryu Seung-bum sunbae as No. 2," she said, sending the set into laughter.
Meanwhile, Go Ah-sung is set to appear in the Disney+ original Then Miracles of the Namiya General Store.
