The star trio’s comedy-action movie exploded into a hot topic right after release — but reactions split hard despite the hype around Jin Sun-kyu, Gong Myung, and Kim Ji-seok’s chemistry.

Released on the 19th, the Netflix film Husbands in Action follows ex-husband Chungsik (played by Jin Sun-kyu) and current husband Minseok (played by Gong Myung), who end up reluctantly teaming up on an unpredictable rescue mission to save their wife kidnapped by a crime ring.

In the story, Chungsik, Minseok, and Dojun (played by Kim Ji-seok) join forces to protect the people they love and face off against the villain Yonggang (played by Yoon Kyung-ho) — a fresh setup that had sparked big anticipation even before release.

Once the curtain finally lifted, though, viewers were sharply divided. On online communities and social media, comments ranged from “The premise is fresh,” and “Please make a wives version, too,” to “I stopped halfway,” and “Good thing it dropped on Netflix — it would’ve been a disaster in theaters.”

Despite pre-release buzz hinting at the birth of a “second Extreme Job,” Husbands in Action is keeping the conversation going amid clear love-it-or-hate-it reviews — and it’s now streaming on Netflix.
