The comedic duo of Gong Myung and Jin Sun-kyu is finally heading to global audiences.
On the 19th, Netflix unveils the film Husbands in Action worldwide — a wild, unpredictable action-comedy in which an ex-husband and a current husband are forced to join forces to rescue a wife kidnapped by a crime syndicate.
The biggest hook is the duo’s outlandish rescue operation and the tangled, ironic web of relationships around them. Collisions between characters stuck in delicious contradictions — detective vs criminal, next-gen boss vs old-guard boss, hostage vs kidnapper — spark unexpected comic synergy and promise nonstop laughs.
A powerhouse cast fuels the ride with vivid character play. Jin Sun-kyu stars as Chung-sik, an ace narcotics detective and ex-husband who anchors the story as he toggles between relentless hunter instincts and a vulnerable side that surfaces around family. Gong Myung becomes Min-seok, the current husband and a veterinarian, revealing a quietly unhinged streak and elite driving skills that inject fizzy energy into the film.
Scene-stealers round out the ensemble. Kim Ji-seok plays Do-joon, the 'Black Sugar' kingpin who dominates the drug trade with cutting-edge tech, while Yoon Kyung-ho is Yong-gang, an old-school gang leader desperate to reclaim past glory — raising the stakes with taut tension.
Also joining are Kang Han-na as Sinae, the fearless wife who refuses to back down even in captivity; Lee Da-hee as Hye-ran, the brains who designed the syndicate’s core systems; and Jeon So-min as Ara, a dogged reporter chasing an explosive exclusive — completing a tight, no-gaps ensemble.
All eyes are on whether the off-the-wall rescue mission of Husbands in Action will completely win over viewers around the world.
