ITZY’s Yuna is reportedly kicking off her era as a full-fledged acting idol, drawing major buzz.
On June 17, MyDaily reported that Yuna will appear in the Netflix original Do Not Cross the Wall.
According to reports, Yuna will play Kim Ri-ji, a transfer student at Jinwol Girls’ High and a self-proclaimed “love supremacist.” With her uniquely captivating aura and adorable visuals, Kim Ri-ji enters the ultra-elite, notoriously strict Jinwol Girls’ High as a long-distance track-and-field recruit.
After settling into school life, Kim Ri-ji regales classmates with tales from her former coed school and even flaunts a long list of boys’ numbers, piquing the girls’ curiosity. Her presence is set to crack the class’s once laser-focused study vibes, turning up the drama.
The series is set at rival elite boys’ and girls’ schools divided by a single wall. Two fiercely competitive students—one boy and one girl—win their respective student body president elections and, under a draconian rule of “expulsion if caught dating,” dive into a dangerous yet thrilling first love. It’s a fiery teen romance with high stakes.
Earlier this year, Yuna made a successful acting debut with a special appearance on tvN’s Undercover Miss Hong. She has also been cast in My Bias, My Boss, slated to air in the second half of this year.
Netizens reacted, saying, “She was born for teen roles,” “Track team suits her,” and “She’s a better actor than expected.”
Meanwhile, the Netflix series Do Not Cross the Wall is drawing attention for its fresh, vibrant teen ensemble, with rising youth stars Moon Sang-min and Shin Si-a joining Yuna.
