News broke that the 3.96 billion won damages lawsuit filed by health supplement company FromBIO against actor Kim Soo-hyun and his agency Gold Medalist has been postponed by a month.
On the 23rd, multiple outlets, citing recent comments from legal circles, reported that the fourth hearing in FromBIO’s damages suit has been rescheduled to August 19. It was originally set for July 22, but the court delayed it.
A specific reason for the change was not disclosed.
Previously, FromBIO filed the lawsuit claiming its brand image was tarnished by controversy over Kim Soo-hyun’s private life allegedly involving the late Kim Sae-ron. Kim’s side has maintained the allegations are false and has denied any liability for damages.
The case was effectively on hold for about eight months after the second hearing last October. Proceedings resumed after Kim Se-ui, head of HoverLab Inc., was taken into custody. At the most recent third hearing, the court said it needed to confirm whether FromBIO had specifically identified the grounds for an alleged breach of the morals clause. Accordingly, FromBIO agreed to submit a detailed filing outlining the alleged breach, supporting evidence, and the contractual basis.
Even after more than a year of back-and-forth, fans who support Kim Soo-hyun continue to send him messages of encouragement.
