Actor Kim Soo-hyun’s KRW 3.9 billion damages lawsuit with health supplement company FromBIO has resumed after eight months, shocking fans and sparking fresh debate.
On the 10th, the 14th Civil Division of the Suwon District Court held the third hearing in the case filed by FromBIO against Kim Soo-hyun and his agency, Gold Medalist. The proceedings picked back up roughly eight months after last October, drawing intense public attention.
The court ordered FromBIO to specify exactly which actions allegedly violated Kim Soo-hyun’s morals clause and to submit evidence detailing those grounds.
Once those materials are filed, the court will streamline the key issues, receive additional opinions from Kim Soo-hyun’s side, and then set the scope for further hearings.
The lawsuit stems from personal-life allegations tied to actor Kim Sae-ron that surfaced while Kim Soo-hyun was serving as a FromBIO advertising model. FromBIO claims the controversy damaged its corporate image and is seeking compensation, while Kim Soo-hyun’s side has consistently maintained the allegations are untrue.
Recently, the operator of the YouTube channel HoverLab Inc., CEO Kim Se-ui, was referred to prosecutors while in custody, marking a turning point in the case. According to police, he is suspected of fabricating and spreading false information, and the court issued a detention warrant.
