Marking their 4th debut anniversary, NewJeans dropped new content featuring all four members together — instantly sparking buzz about a full-on return to activities.
On the 22nd, without any prior notice, they uploaded a special film titled '2026 Summer of NewJeans' to their official YouTube channel. The clip shows Minji, then Hyein, Hanni, and Haerin appearing in turn, clasping hands on a country road on a summer night. Danielle, who left the team, shared a personal update on social media the same day.
This is the first team-level official video in one year and four months following their exclusive-contract dispute with ADOR. After former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin was dismissed, tensions escalated and NewJeans announced the termination of their exclusive contracts in November 2024. However, due to court rulings, Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni returned to ADOR one after another, and ADOR stated it had also been holding positive talks with Minji. Minji’s appearance in this film amplified fans’ excitement.
ADOR explained, "This commemorative content was created to celebrate NewJeans’ 4th debut anniversary with fans" and added, "We brought the members’ hearts together." They continued, "We will announce detailed plans and formats for future activities once discussions are fully concluded." Following this special film, NewJeans plans to release additional content in sequence.
