Shocking comeback signal: After roughly 16 months away, actor Kim Soo-hyun has officially resumed activities, making a high-profile return on the set of a new advertisement.
On the 14th, BENCH chairman Ben Chan posted photos on his social media from a fresh campaign shoot with Kim Soo-hyun.
In the photos, Kim Soo-hyun beams while holding a bouquet. Despite the long hiatus, he reportedly greeted staff warmly and powered through the schedule with upbeat energy. BENCH is a Philippine fashion brand.
Earlier, his agency Gold Medalist confirmed that Kim Soo-hyun was filming a new BENCH commercial and Pictorial in Korea. The finished ad and pictorial will be released in the Philippines. The project drew attention as his first official engagement since March of last year.
Last year, the YouTube channel HoverLab Inc. raised allegations about the timeline of his relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron, after which Kim largely halted public activities and pursued legal action. According to his agency, during the investigation it was determined that some audio and chat materials used to fuel the claims had been manipulated using generative artificial intelligence (AI).
With Kim Soo-hyun breaking his silence and restarting official schedules through this ad shoot, anticipation is building for updates on his next projects and a full-fledged return to domestic promotions.
