In a new Chelsea, New York vlog, actress Son Tae-young opened up about life in the United States, her long-running friendship with actor Lee Seo-jin, and whether she plans to return to acting — joking that her current "job" is being a full-time homemaker.
On the 12th, Son Tae-young uploaded a Chelsea vlog to her YouTube channel. In the video, she met up with a fellow parent she’s known through their kids’ school, enjoying a relaxed day of shopping and dining. Sitting outdoors at a cafe, the two chatted about their children’s education, life in the U.S., and what mutual friends have been up to.
During the conversation, Lee Seo-jin’s name came up. Son’s friend said Lee often asks how Son is doing whenever they meet. “He asked, ‘What’s Tae-young up to?’ So I told him, ‘She’s raising the kids and driving them around every day,’ and he replied, ‘That’s exactly her vibe,’” the friend shared.
Son laughed and said, “I got to know Seo-jin oppa after working on a project together back in the day.” The two co-starred in the 2006 drama Frieze. She added, “I see him on TV all the time, so I don’t even know how many years it’s been since we met in person. It just feels like I’ve been seeing him nonstop,” before turning to the camera with a playful message: “Oppa, I do have a job. I’m a homemaker.”
She also shared a cute story involving her husband Kwon Sang-woo and Lee Seo-jin. “My husband randomly ran into Seo-jin oppa at a restaurant. After they greeted each other, Seo-jin oppa picked up the tab,” Son said.
Her friend described Lee as “the same as ever — genuinely hilarious and a total tsundere,” to which Son agreed, adding, “He’s so funny. He’d be the best if he were my real older brother.”
The topic then shifted to her potential return to acting. When asked, “Won’t you go back to work at some point?” Son sighed and answered, “Right now, I don’t have a job. I’m a homemaker.”
Son Tae-young married actor Kwon Sang-woo in 2008, and they have a son and a daughter. She currently lives in the U.S. for her children’s education and is focusing on family life and her YouTube channel.
