Park Bom of 2NE1 shocked fans by signaling a fresh start as a songwriter following her activity pause.

On the 8th, Park Bom posted on her Instagram, "I’ve decided to just work as a songwriter too. Whatever," and shared tracks she made herself. She added, "I came up with the melodies with my own voice and wrote down my thoughts by hand—everything is mine," expressing deep affection for her self-composed songs.

The first track she unveiled is titled 'Rainy Day.' Park Bom asked for "lots of love" and said, "I’ll record it with my own voice later and upload it." While the current vocal on the shared track appears to be an AI voice, Park Bom clarified that she personally created the melody and lyrics.

'Rainy Day' captures Park Bom’s signature emotional color. She paints the scene and feelings of a rainy day, lyrically describing moments when you don’t feel lonely and your heart feels at ease. One candid, eye-catching line reads, "Rainy days are a really good time to forget a guy."

Previously, Park Bom had hinted at a potential career as a songwriter by consecutively sharing self-written tracks such as 'Heaven,' 'A Morning With Nothing,' and 'The World of Squares and Circles.' Fans are flooding her with messages of support for this bold new challenge.

Meanwhile, Park Bom paused activities last August due to health reasons. In June, she ended her exclusive contract with the agency she had worked with for about eight years. At the time, the agency said the decision respected Park Bom’s recovery and future plans.
