Actor Choi Woo-shik broke his silence with a casual life update after addressing recent racism allegations.
On the 6th, Choi posted several photos on his social media with the brief caption "Paris." In the shots, he sports a clean, polished look while enjoying a laid-back day around the French capital.
The post drew extra attention as it was Choi’s first everyday update since racism claims surfaced at a fashion show.
Choi had visited France to attend an event for a fashion brand he represents as a global ambassador. During the event, while signing autographs, an overseas fan alleged, "I was the only Black person there, and he skipped me," sparking controversy. The fan added that it wasn’t just about missing an autograph — they couldn’t understand why he signed for others right in front of them but not for them.
As the backlash grew, Choi responded with a statement in English. He wrote, "If I passed you by, I’m sorry," adding, "I tried to sign for as many people as possible, but time was very limited. I hope we can meet again next time."
Subsequent on-site videos showed Choi signing for other Black fans as well, prompting many to believe there was no intent to exclude any specific race.
Canadian-born Choi Woo-shik debuted in 2010 and has starred in various projects. This year, he appeared in the film Number One.
