On the 14th, producer StudioS said, "We initially planned a one-episode special, but the response has been so strong that we decided to air an Agent Kim Reactivated special on July 31 and August 1 at 9:50 p.m."
The team is still weighing whether to center the special on cast talk segments or focus on making-of footage and unaired scenes. A leading option is an in-studio binge of Episodes 1 to 10, and a dedicated editing team has reportedly been assembled for this format.
Since its premiere on the 26th of last month, Agent Kim Reactivated has exploded past 20% nationwide ratings by Episode 4, according to Nielsen Korea. Episode 6 hit 22.3%, marking the highest miniseries rating of the year and the second-highest ever among SBS Friday-Saturday dramas.
