Actor Kim Soo-hyun is reportedly resuming activities with a commercial shoot.
On the 8th, his agency GOLDMEDALIST told multiple outlets, "Kim Soo-hyun will film a commercial for a Philippine fashion brand on July 14."
This ad shoot is drawing attention as his first official activity after he briefly stepped back last year amid various allegations linked to the late Kim Sae-ron.
On the 5th, GOLDMEDALIST stated that charges including defamation by spreading false information, violations of the Stalking Punishment Act, distribution of illicit recordings under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, and attempted coercion and intimidation were acknowledged in relation to the rumors surrounding Kim Soo-hyun, while expressing gratitude to fans for their support. The agency also thanked investigative and judicial authorities for ensuring fairness and a strict review throughout the legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun's case entered a new phase as Kim Se-eui, head of the YouTube channel HoverLab Inc. (hereafter "HoverLab"), was taken into custody and referred for indictment on charges including spreading false information. He allegedly claimed since March last year that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor, and is accused of using AI technology to fabricate audio and KakaoTalk messages that were then made public. In issuing the arrest warrant, the court cited concerns over destruction of evidence and flight risk.
Despite a year of controversy, Kim Soo-hyun has reaffirmed his innocence and appears ready for a fresh leap forward.
