The King’s Warden continues its box office run, surpassing 16 million admissions and solidifying its place among South Korea’s highest-grossing films.
According to distributor Showbox, the film crossed the 16 million mark as of April 5, placing it third among all domestic releases behind The Admiral: Roaring Currents and Extreme Job.
Since its February release, the film has maintained steady momentum. While daily admissions have slowed slightly, weekend turnout remains strong, with over 150,000 viewers still heading to theaters.
Box office revenue has also exceeded 155.3 billion won, reinforcing its status as a major commercial success.
Set during the final days of the deposed King Danjong, the film follows his life in exile and the people around him, with performances by Park Ji-hoon and Yoo Hae-jin drawing continued praise.
