Actor Jin Tae-hyun personally shared how he feels about stepping down from JTBC’s variety show Divorce Camp after nearly two years on the program.
On the 28th, Jin posted a lengthy message on his Instagram explaining why he is leaving. He wrote, "There are more unaired episodes left than the ones that have aired, but the article came out first, so I’m greeting you in advance," adding, "Through my manager, I was informed of the production team’s decision for me to step down and their explanation, and I wrapped up the show with my final recording in early April."
Divorce Camp is a counseling-style variety show that examines the conflicts of couples on the brink of divorce. Since its August 2024 premiere, Jin has appeared as the husband-side household investigator and a couples psychodrama assistant. With realistic advice and a sincere attitude, he resonated with viewers and became a key pillar of the show.
Along with the news of his departure, Jin opened up about his honest feelings. "My life experience is limited and subjective, so I constantly wondered whether my advice actually helped anyone," he said. "Looking back now, I see many shortcomings and feel embarrassed." Still, he emphasized, "In my 25 years in entertainment, I put my whole heart into this more than any other shoot," revealing a strong sense of responsibility.
He also thanked former basketball player–turned–TV personality Seo Jang-hoon for recommending him to the show. Jin said, "I’m grateful to Jang-hoon, who reached out and asked me to do the show with him," highlighting their loyalty.
On the same day, JTBC stated that Jin’s exit was "part of a program overhaul." Seo Jang-hoon and Park Ha-sun will remain in their roles, and the replacement MC has not yet been announced.
