Shocking comeback buzz: After stepping away due to a rare illness, actor Moon Geun-young is now considering a role in director Yeon Sang-ho’s new film, igniting speculation about her return to the big screen.

On the 21st, Moon Geun-young’s agency, Cree Company, stated, "Moon Geun-young has received an offer to appear in director Yeon Sang-ho’s new movie Edo Tensei and is currently reviewing it positively."

Edo Tensei is the next project from Yeon Sang-ho, known for building singular cinematic worlds. If Moon signs on, it would mark her first feature film in about nine years. Previously, Moon teamed up with Yeon in Netflix’s original series Hellbound Season 2, playing teacher Oh Ji-won of the Sunshine Class, where her shocking visual transformation and chilling, fan-praised performance as a fanatic made major waves.

All eyes are on whether she’ll reunite with Yeon following Hellbound Season 2. Notably, a full-fledged film appearance would be her first since the 2017 release of Glass Garden.

Meanwhile, as talk of her screen comeback trends, Moon Geun-young is also meeting audiences on stage, continuing a packed schedule. She is currently starring in the play Orphan, running through the 31st, showcasing an intense, tightly crafted performance.
