Actors Shin Ha-kyun and Oh Jung-se are reuniting on television.
At the production presentation for MBC’s drama Fifties Professionals held on the 21st, Shin Ha-kyun, Oh Jung-se, Heo Sung-tae, Kim Shin-rok, Lee Hak-joo, and director Han Dong-hwa introduced the series.
Fifties Professionals follows National Intelligence Service agent Jeong Ho-myeong (played by Shin Ha-kyun), who is determined to uncover his hidden past; Bong Je-soon (Oh Jung-se), a North Korean special operative who has lost his memory; and Kang Beom-ryong (Heo Sung-tae), a legendary gangster-turned-convenience-store owner, as fate pulls them back into action.
Shin Ha-kyun said, “They’re sworn rivals who end up joining forces, and I think the comedy and character dynamics that come out of that will be a lot of fun.” Oh Jung-se added, “My previous project together was shorter than expected, but this time we were able to work together at length, so I felt reassured and had a blast filming.” Shin Ha-kyun shared that he joined because the script was entertaining and the relationships between the characters were compelling, adding, “I thought it was a fun story the whole family could enjoy.”
Reuniting after the film Extreme Job, Shin Ha-kyun and Oh Jung-se are expected to deliver another hit. Shin Ha-kyun said, “Oh Jung-se is always refreshing. With every role, he brings a new character to life. And while Heo Sung-tae doesn’t say much, he shows so many sides of himself in his acting—I’m grateful,” expressing high expectations for the trio’s chemistry.
Fifties Professionals premieres on the 22nd at 9:50 p.m.
