Musical actor Yoon Seung-woo surprised fans by announcing he is marrying the partner who has stood by his side for years.
On the 21st, his birthday, Yoon posted a carefully handwritten letter on Instagram to personally share the happy news with fans.
In the letter, after thanking fans for their birthday wishes, Yoon gently revealed his marriage plans: "In 2015, in the blazing summer when I was twenty-six, I met someone, and now we are ready to promise each other forever."
He continued, "We met when everything felt clumsy and lacking, filled each other's empty spaces, and have laughed and grown together," adding, "Looking back, in our brightest moments and on ordinary days alike, we always stood by each other's side," expressing deep affection for his bride-to-be. He added, "Because of the person who has always stayed by me and loved me just as I am, I have been able to become a little better, step by step. Above all, I laughed a lot and was truly happy in the time we spent together."
Yoon wrote, "I have always said that in my work you can't tell a story without the word 'love,' and looking back, my life too has been filled with the time of loving one person for a long time and building a life together," heightening the emotion. He concluded, "As someone's husband and as an actor who loves the stage, I will become a stronger person. Please watch over our new beginning with warmth."
Since debuting in 2016 with the musical Legendary Little Basketball Team, Yoon has earned recognition for his solid acting and vocals across both large-scale and intimate venues through works like Bare: The Musical, Dear Evan Hansen, Almond, and the play The History Boys. Most recently, he appeared in the MBC drama Motel California, expanding his reach from the stage to the small screen and leaving a strong impression on the public.
As he begins a new chapter in life with double the joy, Yoon has locked in the musical Black Mary Poppins as his next project, continuing his busy run. The production is set to meet audiences from June 18 to September 6 at Link Art Center Bugs Hall.
