Casting buzz explodes: Actor Lee Jin-wook is reportedly in talks to join the Korean remake of the hit Japanese drama Unnatural, sending K-Drama fans into a frenzy.

On the 15th, his agency BH Entertainment told multiple outlets, "Lee Jin-wook received an offer to appear in Unnatural and is reviewing it positively." 

According to reports, Lee Jin-wook was offered the role of the protagonist's fellow forensic pathologist.

Unnatural is a mystery medical series that follows forensic scientists as they uncover the truth behind unnatural deaths. It aired on Japan's TBS in 2018 and became a massive hit. With its tight production and gripping plot, it is hailed as one of Japan's best-made dramas and remains beloved among Korean drama fans. Actress Satomi Ishihara led the series and earned rave reviews for her standout performance.

Adding to the hype, Girls' Generation member and actress Yoona is reportedly set to play the female lead. In the original, top Japanese actress Satomi Ishihara portrayed the character.

Netizens reacted, saying, "The character fits him so well," "This is exactly Lee Jin-wook's strength," and "A perfect match," among other comments.

Meanwhile, Big Wave Entertainment and Neostory announced in 2022 that they had signed a rights deal with Japan's TBS to produce the Korean version of Unnatural. As a result, anticipation is building for the on-screen chemistry between the two stars.
