Singer-actor IU revealed her unfiltered thoughts on love.

On the 12th, a video titled 'Tears Over This Week’s Final Broadcast | Perfect Crown Behind-The-Scenes' was uploaded to YouTube channel 이지금 [IU Official].

In the video, IU revisited a scene where her character Seong Hee-ju asks her father for help after their contract marriage is exposed. In the drama, Hee-ju falls to her knees, saying, "I can handle this. So please," begging him to spare the man she loves, Grand Prince Lee An (played by Byeon Woo-seok), instead of her.

Watching the scene, IU shared her take on love: "I threw away all my pride in the face of love. I hope Wani (played by Byeon Woo-seok) recognizes a love like this," before adding, "But if I’m hoping for that, maybe I don’t love enough yet. Love isn’t about seeking validation."

When the production team asked, "Is that IU’s philosophy or Hee-ju’s?" IU answered, "IU’s philosophy," adding, "Hee-ju has never been in love, so she probably doesn’t have a philosophy."

Meanwhile, IU publicly revealed she has been dating Lee Jong-suk since December 2022. The two were longtime friends before going public and have since subtly mentioned each other at official events, drawing attention as one of the industry’s most-watched couples.

IU’s MBC Perfect Crown airs every Friday at 9:50 p.m. and Saturday at 9:40 p.m. (KST).
