aespa have unleashed a flashy comeback with their pre-release track “WDA (Whole Different Animal)” in collaboration with G-Dragon — but a brewing controversy among some fans over his feature pushed Karina to speak up, and her message is going viral.

On May 11 at 6 p.m. KST, aespa dropped their second full album’s pre-release single “WDA (Whole Different Animal)” across major music platforms. “WDA” is a hip hop–based dance track powered by towering synth bass and a heavy, commanding hook. G-Dragon contributed a feature and wrote the rap for his section, delivering a hard-hitting synergy.

However, parts of the fandom showed strong dislike. Word reached the members, and according to social media and online communities, Karina wrote on the fan platform Bubble: “You might love or hate ‘WDA,’ but I hope you’ll still show it love. I’ll show you lots of cool performances.”

While her remark appeared aimed at calming upset fans, it enraged some of G-Dragon’s supporters. Reactions included, “So a song G-Dragon featured on is a song to ‘hate,’ huh?” and “You’re making GD fans who’ve been streaming look like suckers.”

Meanwhile, aespa’s second full album ‘LEMONADE’ will release on May 29 at 1 p.m. KST with all tracks available on streaming, alongside the physical album.
