Actress Shin Ye-eun has returned to her hometown with a hidden secret.

On the 12th, the team behind ENA's new Monday–Tuesday drama Doctor on the Edge revealed still cuts of Shin Ye-eun transformed into a bright, "sunshine" lead.

In the released stills, Yook Hari (played by Shin Ye-eun) captures attention as she protects patients with a warm smile.

Describing her character, Shin Ye-eun said, "Hari is overflowing with love — to the point some might call her nosy — yet she's gentle and strong." She added, "I wanted to blend what I have with Hari's charms to create a character viewers will adore."

She continued, "The subject of public health doctors felt special, and every resident of Pendongdo village was charming and three-dimensional. I believed the warm episodes filled with laughter and healing would resonate with many people," explaining why she joined the project.

Yook Hari abruptly quits a university hospital and returns to her hometown, carrying a secret. To portray the character's wide emotional range, Shin Ye-eun devoted significant effort. "Hari is someone who has to display different emotions in a short moment, with big shifts. I focused on expressing those changes harmoniously and never losing Hari's emotional through line," she shared.

She added, "I wanted to capture the real warmth and professional skill of actual nurses. I sought advice from nurses, asked questions, and studied related videos and real experiences to get closer to the profession," raising expectations for her performance.

Meanwhile, Doctor on the Edge will premiere on June 1 at 10 p.m.
