Riding a massive hot streak with the drama Weak Hero, the film The King's Warden, and the currently trending series The Legend of Kitchen Soldier, Park Ji-hoon’s much-hyped transformation into a boxer has shockingly fallen through.

On the 21st, according to MyDaily, Park Ji-hoon decided not to appear in the tvN drama Promoter. As a result, the production team has started casting a new lead to steer the story in his place.

Back in January, Park was positively reviewing Promoter and was slated to play WBC light flyweight boxer Jang Jeong-gu, a prodigy who repeatedly gets disqualified right at the brink of championship victory. Hype soared for Park’s gritty image shift and his use of the Busan dialect, but the deal ultimately collapsed during final negotiations.

Even though the role is off the table, Park Ji-hoon is doubling down on his global outreach by meeting fans around the world. He’s gearing up for a large-scale fan-con Asia tour titled 'RE:FLECT'.
