Actor Jung Woo-sung is reportedly considering a role in the film Salsaengbu, and all eyes are on his next move.
On the 20th, Jung Woo-sung’s agency Artist Company told multiple outlets, "Jung Woo-sung received an offer to star in the film Salsaengbu and is reviewing it," adding, "Nothing has been decided yet."
Salsaengbu is set against the backdrop of the Gyeyu Coup, when Prince Suyang seized power. Director Kim Hong-sun, known for the films Traffickers and Project Wolf Hunting, is slated to helm the project. Jung Woo-sung has reportedly been offered the role of the real-life figure Han Myeong-hoe.
Han Myeong-hoe was a central figure in Joseon-era politics. Most recently, the box-office smash The King's Warden surpassed 16 million admissions, with actor Yoo Ji-tae leaving a strong impression as Han Myeong-hoe. Fans are now eager to see how Jung Woo-sung might reinterpret the same character.
Jung Woo-sung has recently drawn intense public attention over his private life. In 2024, it emerged that he had fathered a child out of wedlock with former model Moon Gabi; he later acknowledged he is the biological father and stated he would take responsibility. News also broke that he registered his marriage with a non-celebrity woman, keeping him at the center of headlines.
Despite the controversy, Jung Woo-sung’s on-screen activities continue. He returned with the Disney+ original series Made in Korea, which is also gearing up for a Season 2 release.
