The 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards raise the curtain in spectacular fashion today (May 8, KST), promising a viral, high-stakes night where films, dramas, and variety hits collide. Veteran host trio Shin Dong-yup, Suzy, and Park Bo-gum return for an eighth consecutive year, cementing their status as the ceremony's signature MCs.

This year's show assembles the power players behind K-content's global boom for a history-making lineup. In television, lead stars and creators from You and Everything Else — including Kim Go-eun, Park Ji-hyun, and Kim Gun-woo — and Our Unwritten Seoul — with Park Bo-young and Park Jin-young — will attend. Heavyweights like Lee Junho, nominated for Best Actor for Typhoon Family, and Ji Sung of The Judge Returns will also walk the red carpet, dialing up the gravitas.

In film, two most-nominated juggernauts are set for a fierce face-off. No Other Choice, up for seven awards including Best Film, will be represented by director Park Chan-wook — juggling a Cannes schedule — alongside stars Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Lee Sung-min, and Yum Hye-ran. The team behind the 16.8-million-viewer smash The King's Warden — director Jang Hang-jun with Yoo Hae-jin, Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Mi-do, and Park Ji-hoon — will also attend.

The variety race is equally intense. Disruptors like Kian84, Kim Won-hoon, and Choo Sung-hoon join standouts Kim Yeon-koung, Seol In-ah, Lee Su-ji, Jang Do-yeon, and Hong Jin-kyung in a single powerhouse gathering. Key creators from buzzy programs such as Culinary Class Wars Season 2 will be out in full force, turning up the heat.

This year also marks a milestone: to celebrate 60 years of Korean musicals, a brand-new musical category debuts — and all eyes are on the first-ever winners. Best Musical contenders The Long Long Night, Laika, and Mongyudowon await their crowning moment.

Catch the present and future of Korean popular culture at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards, broadcast live today at 7:50 p.m. KST on JTBC, JTBC2, JTBC4, and Naver.
