Baekga, a member of the group Koyote, has spoken out about the controversy regarding the illegal land use of a café in Jeju that has recently surfaced.
In a segment called 'Baekhyun’s Confident Remarks' on KBS Cool FM’s 'Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show' aired on the 16th, Baekga appeared noticeably downcast compared to usual. When Park Myung-soo asked, "Why do you seem so down today?" Baekga replied, "I feel very wronged because of the Jeju café incident."
Recently, a large café in Seogwipo, Jeju, is under police investigation for allegedly using around 6,000 square meters (about 1,815 pyeong) of public land illegally to install walkways, grassy hills, and parking lots. Since this café was previously known as 'Baekga Café', Baekga has also caught some of the backlash.
In relation to this, Baekga commented, "I am neither the legal representative nor was I involved much with the interiors or gallery planning. I was completely unaware of the land issues. The people I was working with proceeded without letting me know." He expressed his feelings of being wronged further by saying, "Earlier this year, my mother was unwell, and I ended my contract. Yet my name is still being mentioned in this situation."
Park Myung-soo said, "You should have checked everything carefully, but it’s clear that Baekga has no connection to this matter,” adding, “I can assure you of that.” He encouraged Baekga by saying, “You need to gather your strength. You must work hard on your broadcasts.”
Towards the end of the broadcast, Baekga expressed relief, saying, "There were many misunderstandings, but I’m glad to have the opportunity to clarify things now," showing a brighter demeanor.
