Nana, a former member of the girl group After School, had her injuries deemed as self-defense during the process of subduing an intruder who invaded her home.

The Guri Police Agency announced on the 22nd that they are planning to send a man in his 30s, identified as A, to the prosecution for charges of special robbery causing injury.

Earlier, A allegedly invaded Nana's home with a weapon at 6 AM on the 15th, threatening her and her mother while demanding money. Nana and her mother fought back to stop him, during which A reportedly sustained a laceration on his jaw from the weapon.

The recognition of self-defense by Nana and her mother emerged as a key issue in this case. The police concluded it as self-defense based on the statements of the victim and the suspect, applying Article 21, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Act. This clause stipulates that acts to defend oneself or the legal interests of others from 'current unlawful infringement' can be established if there are 'justifiable reasons.'

The police noted that A is unemployed and the act was not targeted towards a specific celebrity. Furthermore, it has been reported that Nana and her mother had no prior acquaintance with A. During police questioning, A stated that he committed the crime due to a lack of living expenses.
