Netflix is set to unleash a jam-packed slate in 2026. From sugar-sweet romances to pulse-pounding action and thrillers that make time fly, plus comedies guaranteed to go viral with nonstop laughs—there's something for everyone. Led by Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung, Can This Love Be Translated? is only the opening act of Netflix's must-watch lineup dropping this year.
◆ Destiny Is Always Within Reach
First up: romance. Starring Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung, Can This Love Be Translated? kicked off the year with buzz. The rom-com follows multilingual interpreter Ju Hojin as he's assigned to global top star Cha Muhee—sparking an unpredictable romance. In just three days after launch, it shot to No. 2 on Netflix's Global Top 10 Non-English TV, igniting massive hype.
BLACKPINK's Jisoo teams up with Seo In-guk in Boyfriend on Demand, while Chae Soo-bin and Kim Young-kwang lead Nareul Chungjeonhae Jwo, both highly anticipated. Boyfriend on Demand is a fantasy rom-com where webtoon PD Seo Mirai, exhausted by reality, subscribes to a virtual dating simulation to "try out" a boyfriend. Nareul Chungjeonhae Jwo is a romantic comedy about a man with a failing artificial heart battery and a woman with electric powers.
Fans are also eyeing the rom-com Ireon Yeot Gateun Sarang, about an amnesiac prosecutor, Go Eunsae, and a boxing coach, Jang Taeha, who claims to be her boyfriend—forced into a hilariously chaotic cohabitation. Jung Hae-in and Ha Young play Jang Taeha and Go Eunsae, respectively.
◆ Magic That Makes You Forget Time
If romance adds a spoonful of sweetness, the next stop is edge-of-your-seat thrillers.
From acclaimed writer Noh Hee-kyung, with Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo headlining, Cheoncheonhi Gangnyeolhage is on the way, as is Pavane starring Go Ah-sung, Byun Yo-han, and Moon Sang-min. Plus, the pairing of Choi Min-sik and Choi Hyun-wook in The Boy in the Last Row is already being hailed as one of Netflix's most anticipated 2026 titles.
Scandal, led by Son Ye-jin, Ji Chang-wook, and Nana, is also turning heads. Another upcoming thriller, Deuljwi, follows reclusive novelist Moon Jae (Ryu Jun-yeol) who teams up with loan shark Noja (Seol Kyung-gu)—the very man who once hunted him—to chase down a mysterious "field rat" that robbed him of everything overnight.
◆ Sparks That Explode with Adrenaline
If you crave thrills, don't miss Son Seok-koo's Road (Working Title). Based on the Korea-Japan joint manga 'Blue Road', it follows Korean and Japanese detectives conducting a joint investigation to untangle a baffling mystery.
Also on deck: Lady Dua, the story of Sarah Kim (Shin Hye-sun), a woman who longs to be "luxury" even if it's fake, and Moogyeong (Lee Jun-hyuk), the man tracking her ambitions; Get Schooled starring Kim Mu-yeol and Lee Sung-min; and the returning heavy-hitters Agents of Mystery 2, Bloodhounds 2, rounding out an all-star lineup.
◆ Your Daily Dose of Laughter
Netflix is also ready to flip the heavy mood with hard-hitting laughs: Lee Seo-jin's Dalla Dalla and Husbands.
Lee Seo-jin's Dalla Dalla is a new Na Young-seok production made with Netflix, chronicling actor Lee Seo-jin and PD Na's road-tripping adventures across the U.S. With Na's recent shows drawing wildly mixed reactions, all eyes are on whether this new series can silence the criticism and win over viewers.
Comedy isn't just for variety—there's film, too. Reuniting 'Extreme Job' stars Jin Sun-kyu and Gong Myung, Husbands is an action-comedy about ex-husband Chungsik and current husband Minseok, who awkwardly team up to rescue their wife after she's kidnapped by a crime syndicate. The cast also includes Kim Ji-seok, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Kang Han-na.
◆ A New World Beyond Imagination
There's more: The Wonder Fools, reuniting Park Eun-bin with director Yoo In-shik after 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', and East Palace, led by Nam Joo-hyuk and Cho Seung-woo. The supernatural thriller Girigo follows high schoolers marked for sudden death by the cursed wish-granting app 'Girigo' as they fight to break the curse.
And rounding it out is the mystery horror-fantasy series Kkul Alba, set in a bizarre temp agency that only posts "sweet gigs" starting at 50 times the usual hourly wage. Young Hyuk-jun (Lee Jae-wook) gets thrown into a literal hellscape of labor where no one knows what horrors await. With Lee Jae-wook, Go Min-si, Kim Min-ha, and Lee Hee-jun on board, Netflix's 2026 lineup looks flat-out unmissable.
