Actress Shin Soo-hyun is reportedly gearing up to reunite with Hwang Minhyun in the upcoming TVING original drama Study Group Season 2.
According to a report by MyDaily on the 2nd, Shin Soo-hyun will appear in the second season of Study Group.
In Season 1, Shin portrayed Lee Ji-woo, a member of the Yuseong High study group known for her strong sense of justice. She left a strong impression with her mix of warmth toward her friends and sharp, cathartic action scenes.
Study Group Season 2 builds on the success of its first installment. Hwang Minhyun, who played Yoon Gamin but was unable to participate in Season 1 promotions due to military enlistment, has selected this project as his first work following discharge. In the new season, the now-closer study group expands its fight beyond Yuseong High School, taking on a large-scale threat affecting students nationwide.
Having demonstrated solid chemistry with Hwang Minhyun in Season 1, Shin Soo-hyun is currently being discussed for a return that would further deepen her character within the expanded storyline. If confirmed, her reunion with Hwang is expected to add new layers to the drama’s action and emotional beats.
Meanwhile, Shin Soo-hyun previously competed on survival programs MIXNINE and PRODUCE 48 before making her acting debut in 2019. She has since appeared in projects including Duty After School, Golden Days, and Cashero.
