Netflix animated film K-Pop: Demon Hunters clinched Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards, once again proving its global box-office power.
At the 98th Academy Awards, held on the 15th (local time) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, K-Pop: Demon Hunters took home the trophy for Best Animated Feature. The film triumphed over heavyweight contenders including Zootopia 2, Arco, Elio, and Little Amélie or the Character of Rain.
K-Pop: Demon Hunters follows Huntrix, a group that dazzles on stage as world-class K-pop stars and, off stage, moonlights as heroic demon hunters. Its fresh blend of K-pop and fantasy action sparked worldwide buzz from the moment it dropped.
The film has amassed over 500 million views on Netflix, marking one of the platform's most successful runs ever. On top of that, its in-film OST 'Golden' dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks at No. 1, becoming a bona fide global smash.
