Jun Ji-hyun’s zombie film is finally lifting the veil.
Director Yeon Sang-ho’s new movie Colony unveiled its first-look stills on the 19th.
The images reveal blood-soaked infected and a mysterious, slime-like substance, dialing up the dread. We see Kwon Se-jung (played by Jun Ji-hyun) surveying the infected from inside a locked-down high-rise, Seo Young-chul (Koo Kyo-hwan) with a steely resolve, Choi Hyun-seok (Ji Chang-wook) protecting his sister Choi Hyun-hee (Kim Shin-rok), who uses a wheelchair, and Gong Seol-hee (Shin Hyun-been) on a tense phone call—all hinting at a perilous fight for survival.
Once the stills dropped, netizens reacted: "These zombies aren’t the usual kind" and "The bizarre, eerie mood really stands out."
Set inside a building sealed off by a mysterious outbreak, Colony follows isolated survivors battling infected that evolve in unpredictable, terrifying ways. The film is slated for a theatrical release in May 2026.
