TVING original series Yumi’s Cells 3 is set for a simultaneous release across 17 Asia-Pacific regions via HBO Max, along with distribution through the TVING hub on Disney+ in Japan, marking an expanded international rollout for the franchise.
Based on the webtoon of the same name, the series continues the story of Yumi, now a third-year novelist navigating a more settled daily life that is disrupted by a new relationship. The narrative maintains its hybrid format, combining live action with 3D-animated “cells” that visualize the character’s inner thoughts and emotions.
Kim Go-eun returns in the lead role, reprising her portrayal of Yumi, alongside Kim Jae-won, who joins the new season as a central character. The production continues with an experienced team, building on the established format that has defined the series since its first season.
Since its initial release, Yumi’s Cells has played a key role in TVING’s original content lineup, contributing to platform growth and developing a dedicated viewer base across multiple seasons.
In preparation for the new season, TVING will launch a dedicated “Yumi’s Cells” hub starting on the 23rd, offering access to previous seasons, clips, and additional content. Broadcast plans also include sequential airings of earlier seasons on tvN and tvN DRAMA, along with a highlights special.
Yumi’s Cells 3 will premiere in Korea on April 13, with two episodes released weekly on TVING every Monday at 6 p.m., while tvN will air episodes on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8:50 p.m.
