Actress Sa-rang Kim sparked widespread empathy after revealing the hardships she faced during her country home renovation.
On March 31, Sa-rang Kim uploaded a video on her YouTube channel, giving viewers a look inside her house. In the clip, she shared snippets of daily life with her dog while also showing the home’s unfinished state, with work still incomplete.
"I was really stressed because of the interior work," she said. "In the middle of construction, the contractor disappeared before finishing." In the footage, exposed wires and incomplete structures throughout the house drew attention.
The biggest problem, she said, was water leaks. "It keeps leaking when it rains, and I don’t know why. Once I fix one spot, another starts leaking again." She even revealed that she laid pet pee pads to soak up the water, shocking viewers. Some walls were left unfinished, and she explained she had to tape paper over gaps to block incoming drafts as a temporary fix.
"I used to pay a lot of attention to interiors, but after being worn down by this, I don’t care as much anymore," she added. "As long as it doesn’t cause major inconvenience in daily life, I think it’s fine."
Netizens reacted with sympathy, commenting, "So even celebrities go through this," "There’s no real fix for leaks," "Renovation stress is so real," and "Contractors like that should be punished."
