BTS are drawing strong reactions with a new release—this time, not from a title track, but from a B-side.

On April 2, the group unveiled the music video for ‘2.0,’ a track from their fifth studio album ARIRANG, through the HYBE Labels YouTube channel.

The video stands out for its cinematic direction, taking cues from Park Chan-wook’s film Oldboy. With a noir-inspired tone, the members appear in stylized settings using props and character-driven visuals, before shifting into intense performance scenes set against a raw, abandoned backdrop.

Musically, ‘2.0’ leans into hip-hop and trap, delivering a sharper, more assertive sound. The track reflects themes of growth and self-definition, adding a different layer to the album’s overall narrative.

What’s driving the conversation, however, is how fans are responding. Many have pointed out that the track feels closer to BTS’s earlier identity, with some even suggesting it could have worked as a title track.

Since its release, ARIRANG has continued to perform strongly across global charts, reinforcing the group’s sustained momentum.
